2021 CHRISTMAS JAR APPEAL.

Last year we launched the ECCH Christmas Jar Appeal in response to the crisis caused by the pandemic. Little did we know that one year later the situation would be even worse. At this point in time we are unable to arrange any events so have no money coming in. So, as the Christmas Jar Appeal was so successful last year we have decided to relaunch it again for Christmas 2021 in order to make sure that the children will at least get presents for Christmas and Three Kings Day.

If you want to join in our campaign, simply make your own savings jar, or you can download the labels attached - be as inventive as you like - and save 1 euro a week until Christmas.

We are aiming to get to 100 jars this year so please let us know that you are saving so we can add you to the list.

We'd also love a picture of you with your jar, or just your jar if you prefer, and we will share it on Facebook. Either send on messenger or e-mail info@ecch.es.

Please share this message among your friends.

Thank you.

Started mine at the beginning of the year. Hope you get many more promises.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE 🐥🐣
Easter is here and the Children at the home are going to receive their Easter Eggs.

Despite the Easter celebrations being cancelled here in Spain and many restrictions in place the children at the home will celebrate in their own way. As we all know we still have difficult times and with other issues like border controls on food imports we did wonder how successful our Easter egg collection would be this year??

WOW ....... Well what can we say? Emma, her staff and the customers of Food Co in Quesada have done it again for the charity and the children. A huge thank you to all concerned, the children will have the eggs and chocolates and no one will be disappointed. This act of caring and kindness demonstrating love to the children is so greatly appreciated by everyone so THANK YOU.
Below is a photo of some of the staff with the donation that was handed over to two of our volunteers on Wednesday.

Wow just amazing the kindness out there is overwhelming thank you to everyone who helped to make this Easter Special in such difficult times xxxx

Thats brilliant ! Happy easter to all the children 🐣 and well done to everyone at Food Co and their customers ❤️

A very big thank you to Musgrave supermarket chain for donating boxes of chocolates and bisquits to the children for Easter. We weren't able to do our usual Easter Egg collections this year as a result of covid restrictions and delivery delays due to Brexit, but the children will not go without.

Also many thanks to the Pinoso Vineyard Christian Fellowship who made a donation for Easter. This money will go towards 'monas' (traditional Spanish Easter buns) and activities for the children during the school holidays, either within the centre or outside if restrictions permit.
San Fulgencio Church also made a donation to ECCH.

Pictured are Maria Jose Gil from Musgrave with Michelle Diggle, ECCH volunteer.

🎅Xmas Jar Collection 2021🎄

Well what a year it has been !!!! This time last year as covid started to take its place in the world we at the Charity discussed the effect on our fund raising activities and began planning. We are so pleased that we did this and the Xmas Jar collection was one idea that proved successful due to yourselves and the efforts you made. Our children in the home did not suffer when it came to Xmas.
The appeal for people to put one euro a week in a jar towards Xmas presents for the children. We had 37 individual people, plus thanks to one of our volunteers Margaret, 24 people from the Pinosso Fellowship Church joined this appeal. This was fantastic and between everyone raised sufficient funds for the children to have their Christmas wishes fulfilled. We were so pleased and thrilled and as you can imagine the children had a fantastic Xmas Day and Three Kings Day due to the kindness and generosity of those that participated.

As things in the world have not changed and the prospect of any changes happening soon look somewhat grim we are now launching our Xmas Jar Appeal 2021 again. We are aware that some people have already started their jar......and want to push the target even higher this year..........THANK YOU.

If you wish to participate, it's so easy

1. Keep your next empty jar and add if you wish a print off one of our labels that you can find below and then start adding your weekly euro until November.
2. Please let us know that you are doing this by providing us with your name, a contact phone number and/or email address either through Facebook or Messenger or an email to the charity direct. Don’t forget to send us a photo of you with your jar and so we can post it on our Facebook page!

We greatly appreciate your help and commitment to this and by doing this you are helping us to know the children will have a super Christmas in 2021.

Many thanks in advance.

Still onto it Roger. So proud we were able to hand over €1600 each to 2 very deserving charities. I have €280 right now and still need to collect the donations and funds raised by Cavanagh's. I'll be holding a tombola soon to add to the funds. Lets stay supportive everyone! Thank you all so very much x

Wonderful, lets make it happen again folks.

Collection started! Thanks for the label 👍

A BIG THANKS TO THE FOOD CO.

The Food Co have been fantastic supporters of the charity since they opened on Quesdada. As well as the exceptional collection of selection boxes that were distributed at Xmas to many many other charities and needy families, Emma (from The Food Co.) has placed a trolley in the store for the collection of non perishables etc that we collect on a regular basis and are donated to the home.
The store also has our charity collection tins on the checkouts for any odd loose change that customers may wish to donate.

Recently one of our volunteers collected the tins that have been in situ since the store opened and when counted were were overwhelmed at the generosity of people. The grand total was 470 euros. In these difficult times this is wonderful.
Like all charities with what is going on in the world, raising funds is very difficult so this is greatly greatly appreciated. A very big thank you to the Food Co, Emma and the staff and to all the customers that have donated. It is greatly appreciated by everyone and we know the children would say a BIG Thank You to you all.

The photo is of Emma and two members of staff receiving a Thank You certificate from the charity.

Christmas Raffle at Unica Bar

A customer at the La Unica Bar offered Dani the owner of the bar and Sandra from Charities 4 charities a donation of €200 for a charity. Sandra with her vast experience and skills at fund raising automatically said this could easily be doubled and the challenge was set. Two beautiful hampers were purchased and raffles held at the bar. Sandra’s challenge was taken on board and the money raised exceeded her challenge way and above. ECCH would like to thank her firstly the donor because without this donation there would not have been a raffle, then Sandra and Dani and everyone else that participated by purchasing tickets. It has been and will continue to be a difficult time for all charities to plan and manage events to raise funds. We would like to say very big “Thank you” to all concerned.

Charities 4 Charities

Sandra and Dave who have been running this charity for over thirteen years invited volunteers from our charity to attend the bar La Unica at Marquesa Goolf, Quesada for an informal afternoon. Pat and Maggi 2 of our volunteers attended and were very surprised that as usual Charities 4 Charities despite very difficult times and on many occasions not being able to organise their weekly auctions due to covid presented our volunteers with a cheque for our charity. This was almost unbelievable and both Pat and Maggi were overwhelmed by the kindness of Sandra, Dave and their helpers. ECCH like most charities during 2020 have encountered many difficulties especially in organising events and fund raising so every little bit of help is greatly appreciated. This mammoth effort from Sandra and Dave and all concerned was wonderful and will really be of help to the charity and children at the home. Thank You a million times over to everyone concerned.

SHARING TRULY IS CARING

Christmas and Three Kings Day have passed for the children at The Home and they all had a fantastic time thanks to everyone’s generosity.

As you know, like all other charities, most of our fund-raising events were cancelled, our collection tins almost empty and people generally had less money to donate.

So we knew that we may not have as many presents to give this Christmas, however, everyone has been extra generous in these difficult times. With your amazing support we are delighted to announce that we managed to complete all the children's Christmas present wish lists, and there were Christmas shoe box gifts, pyjamas, slippers, dressing gowns and sweaters for every child. We also provided extra treats for the children's in-house parties on Christmas Day, New Year and Three Kings, to try to make it extra special as they haven't been out on any excursions since February.

We'd like to thank the following people for making all this happen:-

Belinda McBride Musical Quiz * Big Eat, La Marina * Brighton Beach Bar * British Embassy, Alicante, staff and friends * Catral Elves social group * Christmas Shop, San Luis * Dama de Elche 163 Masonic Lodge * East Coast Riders Scooter Club * Eamonn Lynch, friends & family * Eat to Slim group, La Marina * Emms Dreams, La Marina * Entreneranjos Fundraising Group * Friendly Bar, Citrus Centre * Jackie Bellamy & Friends * Jean Sampson * Jennifer's girlfriends * Karen Agor * Lakeview Bar, Quesada * Lisa, The Outlet, Guardamar * Maureen Cook * Maureen Hopkins * Pinoso Church parishioners * Plaza 39, La Marina * Rolos, Los Dolses * Royal Oak Pub, Campo de Dehesa *Santa Pola Walking Football Club * Vanessa Cuthbert Aznar * Willow International Academy, Quesada * Zest Bar and supporters, Gran Alacant *

Plus everyone who contributed to the Christmas Collection Jars and Shoe Box Appeals and food donation trolly in Iceland, La Marina and The Food Company, Quesada.

All our children are aged 12-17 and we did receive some gifts for younger children. Please be assured that these were passed to other centres within the Arcos de Castillo Group.

We can’t thank everyone enough for their generosity this year.

We are very disappointed to tell you that our charity tin in Capt Morgan's Bar, Eagle's Nest was stolen on Sunday. The empty tin has been recovered and Jane has video footage of the culprit which we have asked her to give to the police.

Our income from charity tins since the pandemic started has been severely depleted so this is even more disheartening. We would therefore ask all businesses with any charity tins to be especially vigilant.

The lowest of low stealing from needy children, I sincerely hope the culprit will be caught and severely punished. I will share this post. May you continue your marvelous charity work ❤️❤️❤️

That is absolutely disgusting 🤢 they should be ashamed of themselves

He has been very active. Visited El Raso and stole a box too! Its like he wants to be caught. Not wearing a mask so full face view on the CCTV?

Disgusting people
