We are very disappointed to tell you that our charity tin in Capt Morgan's Bar, Eagle's Nest was stolen on Sunday. The empty tin has been recovered and Jane has video footage of the culprit which we have asked her to give to the police.

Our income from charity tins since the pandemic started has been severely depleted so this is even more disheartening. We would therefore ask all businesses with any charity tins to be especially vigilant.

He has been very active. Visited El Raso and stole a box too! Its like he wants to be caught. Not wearing a mask so full face view on the CCTV?

Disgusting people

The lowest of low stealing from needy children, I sincerely hope the culprit will be caught and severely punished. I will share this post. May you continue your marvelous charity work ❤️❤️❤️

That is absolutely disgusting 🤢 they should be ashamed of themselves

WOW! WOW! “THE TRUE MEANING OF SHARING IS CARING”.

This year for many people it has been a difficult year, something like we have never experienced before. We the Volunteers for the Charity like many charities had our concerns about Christmas for the children, these concerns have been washed away by many wonderful selfless people being so kind and caring.

Recently one of our volunteers Viv visited Emma at the Food Company in Quesada. (The Food Company since opening have supported Elche Children's Home Charity by having collection tins on the counters and a shopping trolley for collecting non perishable donations that help feed the children.) Viv was overwhelmed when she made this visit as there was an absolute mountain of Christmas selection boxes that had kindly been donated by the staff and customers whilst they were on special offer.

Because of the size of the donations, there were more than ample for our children in the home, plus we try to help the staff at the home keep the children healthy. The decision was made to share some of the chocolates between other Charities and needy families that rely on food bank donations.

We have shared and donated to date to the following San Jose Obero, Algorfa Food Bank Drop Off Point The Tavern Lo Crispin, Help Vega Baja, Help the Aged Benijofar, Asociación de Ayuda de San Fulgencio to name but a few. Donations will continue with the hope that the kindness shown by everyone concerned will put smiles on many children's faces along with the faces of their families and help them feel that people do care as it will add a little glimmer of happiness into their lives when times are so difficult.

On behalf of Elche Children's Home Charity a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Emma for this initiative, to Viv for all the lifting and shifting, to anyone that has contributed towards putting a smile on someone else's face and giving us the opportunity to do this.

On Saturday 24th October a small group of volunteers from ECCH and Barneys Dog Rescue Charity carried out a sponsored walk from Canada del Trigo to Pinosa and back, a total of 20k along the campo lanes. It was a cool day perfect for the 3 hour walk and after refreshments they were pleased that the “oldies” had completed the walk. A total of €900 was donated to ECCH. Heartfelt thanks to all sponsors for donating so generously. Thanks to Hilary Martin for organising the walk. ... See MoreSee Less
