28 May Royal Caribbean Cruises to visit the Anthem of the Seas
Last Thursday the children were invited by Royal Caribbean Cruises to visit the Anthem of the Seas which was in Cartagena for the day.
They had a fantastic day out, were given a magnificent tour of the ship, lunch, rides on the bumper cars and the “North Star” capsule, and a robot dance show.
The crew gave up their spare time to accompany the children and make the day extra special. They also held a raffle raising over 2,000€ which they presented to Annette for the charity at the end of the day.
The children made thank you cards which they gave to the staff and Annette presented them with a Thank You certificate from the charity.
In addition, Royal Caribbean donated indoor and outdoor furniture from the ship to the children’s home. Steve Howell & Son removals kindly offered to collect the furniture free of charge, and arrived at the docks at 11.00 a.m. to load the furniture. Unfortunately they were held up by customs and Steve and his four members of staff were kept at the dockside until 8pm that evening before they were finally permitted to leave. The ship provided them with food and refreshments during their ordeal – and we would like to say a very big thank you to Steve and his staff for their patience and kindness.
We were overwhelmed by the generosity of everybody involved in making the day so magical for the children – this will truly be a day they will never forget.
