Benidorm Palace

Annette and I were at Stevie Spit’s amazing fund raising event at the Benidorm Palace last Sunday which is now an annual event. He started off raising funds for Help the Heroes but it has been so successful that this year Stevie decided that as well as Help for Heroes he would support the Elche Children’s Home as this is a charity very close to his heart.

We were asked to come and help out on the night (and would like to thank our husbands Dave English and Dave Diggle who did a sterling job selling raffle tickets during the interval).

We’d also like to thank all the entertainers who put on a fantastic show and gave their time for free:

Nick Barker
Kylie Burgazzi
Nikki G
Broadway Babies
Vijay
Compania de Flamenco Jay Marwick
Rob Bonovox
Melodie Makers International
Josh Daniels
Jimmy Cricket
Chesney Hawkes
Duncan Norvelle
Stacey Solomon

…… and of course Stevie Spit who compered the whole evening.

Thanks also go to Yvie Walker, Terri, Sandie and all the backstage crew who worked so hard to make the evening such a success.

Attached are some photos from the show – including a picture of Annette with Sandie (Help the Heroes supporter) and Terri.

Also, Annette and I were asked to go on stage to be presented with cheques from Campoverde Music Festival for €2,155 and The Inn On The Green for €1,475 which were the proceeds from their recent fundraising events – so a massive thank you to both.

We have suggested to Stevie that we put the money raised towards installing floodlights on the playground/football pitch at the Children’s Home because when the children come back from school in the winter they have to stay inside all evening as it is too dark for them to go outside. The floodlights will mean that they will be able to play outside for longer instead of being cooped up indoors. The cost of this is approximately €6,000.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event and supported the charities.

We are very sorry that we omitted to say that Yvie Walker organised the event with Stevie – also that we are just waiting to hear from Yvie and Stevie what the final amount raised was on the night and then we will let everyone know.
